Lessons from semi-retirement

“Living each day as if it were our last doesn’t mean your last day of retirement on a remote island. It means to live fully, authentically and spontaneously with nothing being held back”~ Jack Canfield

retirement
How will you manage retirement?

Living fully, authentically, and spontaneously means being open to new experiences and events you may not have been able to attend or say yes to when you were working full-time or even part-time.

Your time now becomes your most precious asset or resource and you have to decide how to use it wisely to support and nurture yourself.

What do I mean by this?

Find people and activities that matter to you and give you purpose and meaning because relationships are important.

Be kind to yourself, support your health ensuring you get enough quality sleep, exercise and healthy food.

Why am I telling you this, because I’m in the same situation and experiencing some of these challenges.

If you need help and I can provide it ( not financial advice as is not my thing) call me on 0419568043 or email me at slater.colin1@outlook.com and I will respond asap.

Have fun with that

Regards

Colin

Mental Health in Retirement

Our mental health is just as important as our physical health

Taking care of our mental health is an act of self-love.

Mental health is important at any age and more so in retirement because many of our social connections

and support groups are no longer active or we haven’t maintained them like we did when working full time.

Regular exercise even just walking 30 minutes a day is important as is strength training.

Just as nutritious food is good for our bodies so is healthy information for our mind and soul.

Thoughts of not being enough if allowed to remain can lead to anxiety and depression.

Having a purpose and meaning is important when many things are changing and are not the same as when we were working full-time.

If you are experiencing mental health problems please seek professional help.
